Argentina New Regulator – ENACOM

In Jan. 2016, it has been confirmed that due to government change, a new regulator ENACOM is merged from Argentine Regulator Autoridad Federal de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (AFTIC) and Autoridad Federal de Servicios de Comunicación Audiovisual (AFSCA). Thus, ENACOM now regulates all telecom and radio equipment in Argentina.

According to Argentina Governemnt Decree, ENACOM has 60 business days starting from December 29, 2015 to reorganize the internal process. Currently, there are no changes to Type Approval process. However, no certificate will be signed until new authorities are designated so delays are expected. On the other hand, the products which have obtained Type Approval in Argentina under AFTIC are remained valid at the moment.
