Serbia | Serbia Ministry of Economy published Official Gazette of the RS, No. 21/2020 about EMC and LVD Rulebook Amendments. Main change is that Serbian EMC and LVD CoC will no longer be required from Jan. 1st, 2022. CE marking would be applicable for non-radio equipment to demonstrate compliance. |
Saudi Arabia | The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) of Saudi Arabia has released the “Regulations of Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields”, which replaces the “National Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields”, would be effected from Jan. 1st, 2022. |
Hong Kong | The Office of the Communication Authority (OFCA) in Hong Kong has released new Type Acceptance Criteria as below: TAC007 – 5G New Radio Base Station Equipment Operating below 6GHz Band TAC008 – 5G New Radio User Equipment Operating below 6GHz Band TAC009 – 5G New Radio User Equipment for Interworking Operation with other radios TAC010 – 5G NR, E-UTRA, UTRA AND GSM/EDGE multi-standard radios (MSR) Base Station Equipment Operating below 6GHz TAC011 – Active Antenna System (AAS) Base Station Equipment Operating below 6GHz |
India | The Wireless Planning and Coordination had issued G.S.R. 870 of Very Low Power Radio Frequency Devices or Equipment for Inductive Applications (Exemption from Licensing Requirement), Equipment Type Approval required.
WPC has issued G.S.R. 853 of delicensed 865-868MHz band (only 865-867MHz allowed before). The transmitted output power, duty cycle and occupied bandwidth are different for Non-Specific SRD, Tracking, Tracing and Data Acquisition Devices, Wideband Data Transmission Systems and RFID applications. New ERP limits of RFID devices have been reduced to 2W.

Japan | Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in Japan has released Ordinance No. 87, updated following documents: 1. Radio Law Enforcement Regulations 2. Radio Equipment Regulations 3. Technical Regulations Conformity Certification of Specified Radio Equipment The revision was made with regard to UWB systems for outdoor use and mmWave Radars. MIC extends the use of UWB on 7.25 to 9 GHz band. For mmWave Radar frequency allocation should be 57 to 64 GHz.

Malaysia | SIRIM QAS has released SQASI/CMCS/1/21/0023 about certification and renewal approach for 3G devices that support other technologies (2G, 4G and/or 5G) after 3G network sunset (effective from 1st Jan. 2022). 3G network would be shut down by 31st Dec. 2021, the certification and renewal of 3G devices that support other technologies would be carried out in accordance with the following approach advised by MCMC: I. Renewal of Existing CoC Existing CoC can be renewed without any changes, wereby II. New Type Approval Application Since 3G network would not be able to be used anymore, applicant may voluntarily choose to include the 3G feature in the new CoC. (related test report and additional fee with 3G would still be required if client choose to include 3G) Announcement Ref. No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/21/0021 about reviewing potential use of the 6GHz frequency band for WiFi. As for now, certification of 6GHz frequency band for WiFi is not permitted until further notice. Certification and importation of Devices should disable 6GHz frequency band for WiFi. Announcement Ref. No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/21/0020 has updated SQASI/CMCS/1/21/0007. In brief, applicants shall ensure the product marketing name information is declared upon submission and is available on the market product. The marketing name information shall be traceable from at least one of the below evidence: 1. Product Specification 2. User Manual 3. Product Brochure 4. Product Marking 5. Product Packaging The multiple marketing name declaration form shall meet the specific variation criteria as defined by SIRIM QAS International in the declaration letter. |
