On June, 7th, 2022, ANATEL released the new Act 7869, which defines the technical requirements for the evaluation of the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), Optical Network Unit (ONU) and Optical Network Line (ONL) for optical fiber networks with passive network standards GPON, XGPON, XGSPON and it will become in force in 60 days.

Main changes as below:

• Inclusion of technical requirements for the XGPON standard according to ITU-T G.987:2012 / ITU-T G.987.2:2016 / ITU-T G.987.2:2016 2016 – Amendment 1 (08/2017) / ITU-T G.987.2:2016 2016 – Amendment 2 (10/2020)
• Inclusion of technical requirements for the XGSPON standard according to ITU-T G.9807.1:2016 / ITU-T G.9807.1:2016 – Amendment 1 (10/2017) / ITU-T G.9807.1:2016 – Amendment 2 (10/2020)
• Update of standards for ONT GPON according to ITU-T G.983.1:2005 / ITU-T G.984.1:2008 / ITU-T G.984.2:2019 / ITU-T G.984.3:2014 / ITU-T G.984.4: 2008

• Inclusion of wavelength test for GPON / XGPON / XGSPON optical transmitter.
